He was irrelavent anyway It wasn't my choice for him to stay I hope the cops dont't find the knife You know what I will Marilyn Nelson wrote this poem in memory of Emmett Till. He was a young boy that was kidnapped by white men and tortured to death. In these poems it described every little detail that went on during his death and his mother's experience. He was accused of something that would have not been bad during this time. Since the color of his skin is different, he was treated like an animal.
The tittle of this poem is "Your Only Child, a Body Thrown to Bloat." The poem is connected to the poem because Emmett Till's body was thrown in the lake after he was fatally beaten. Emmett Till's mother didn't get justice after he died and ow he was killed because of hate and it describe how he was killed. The author is using imagery many times, for example "Surely you must have thought of suicide seeing his gray flesh, chains around his throat." "Innocence slaughtered by the hands of hate." The author uses a simile too, "Would you say yes, like the mother of Christ." The poet feels his mirror needs justice for her son's death. The mood in this poem changed in the second sentence of the poem when he described how he looked when he was found dead. The poem is asking you how would you as a mother handle that kind of a situation. The title of this poem is "Tears, Through the Patchwork Drapery of Dream." The poem is connected to the poem when Emmett Till's mother is thinking about all the activity that was going around during her son's lynching at his funeral. It was giving all this information that was screaming, and during the lyntching. How he was screaming , and the kids looking at him like they're looking at icecream. The author used 1 example of imagery, "The clouds standing around like devildoirs ." 1 example of metaphor, " Tears, through the patchwork drapery of dream," The author feels he felt a horrible death. It changes made in the second sentence when it described his screams. In Emmett Till's human expierence, it was horrible. It was saying back then, everything was horrible. The title of this poem is "Emmett Till's name still catches in my throat." Tghe poem is connected because like everytime she's hear his name, she thinks of what the white men done to him while they were killing him. Emmett Till's mother is getting him ready to go to Mississippi. She packed his suitcase and informed him about the white people in Mississippi. The autor used 1 simile, 'like syllables wayland in a stufferer's mouth." 1 personification, "some white folks have blind souls." The author also uses imagery when she says "Her only child. A body left to bloat." The poem changes moods in the last sentence because you can tell by that last sentence that he dies. It let us knoe how bad Mississippi was and how bad they treated black people. It also showed uis that his mother had a bad feeling about that. This poem does not have a titile. It paraprhased all the poems that were in this book. All the titles were made as one poem. It talked about Emmett Till's death and his funeral. The author used 2 similes she used was "like the full moon, which smiled calmly on his death." and "like his gouges eye, which watched boots kick his face." 1 imaghery she used is "Pierced bu the screams of a shortened childhoob." She feels sorrow for his mother and what she had to go through and what he had to go through. It changes mood in the 3rd line when he says "Pierced by the screams of a shortened childhood." becuase it went from relaxed to death. The poem is saying well describing his death and the funeral. Its giving us his mother's expierenced. "Money is life," Walter said to his mother. Walter just wanted the best for his wife and family. You can't trust nobody out in the world. Walter learned that the hard way. Sidney Poitier, Danny Glover, and Sean Combs played the character "Walter" in three different movies in three different decades. To me, all three of them did great jobs acting but I understood the flow better when Danny Glover was playing "Walter."
The reason I say Danny Glover is the best actor is because of his expressions, gestures, use of props, volume, pauses, and pitch. His seem more realistic towards the other actors. In his facial expressions, you can actually see the sadness, the greediness he's feeling when his money was stolen from him. The volume in his voice didn't just raise up out of nowhere like the other actors. He led it there by starting from low to high. The best prop he used to express his feelings was when he balled up the paper with all the documentation of his liquor store. We all know that he needed that paper so that told us that his anger took over his feelings. When his mother told him his wife was expecting another baby, he paused for a long, silent, depressing five seconds, then just barged out the door. That one little pause gave us many unanswered questions. Is he happy? Is he mad? Does he wanna keep the baby? Does he want to sell the baby? Does he want her to get an abortion? The University of South Carolina is my preferred and dream college. I plan on playing baseball and football in college and USC have a great football and baseball program. In the past years I've seen many of my friends sign football and baseball scholarships to South Carolina. They have really inspired me to do good things in life like worh hard on th field and in my field of study. Williams-Brice Stadium (football stadium) is a one of a kind when it's packed during football games. It's nothng like it, it has been a big part to me since i was little. I am still a ride or die Bama fan but USC has a better baseball program the Bama.
I think website create guidelines for posting comments beacause people's opinons
can really mean something to other people. It can mean a good thing or a bad thing. some people might take bad comments to the heart and end up hurting theirself or even killing theirself. A good comment to a person can inspire them to do more work like that. I dont think people should have to leave their e-mail or their real name becuase it dosent really matter who said the comment. Their identity is safe with them. If you want to put that information down, its up to you. I think that online commenting is a great way to engage in conversation. Its a great way to meet new people. This is a newspaper article in "The Dunwoody Crier" about me and my 2 brothers scoring touchdowns in the same game. We made history being 3 brothers scoring touchdowns in the game. There were many websites that came up when I searched my name but I picked this one. This aricle to me was the most memorable moment of my life. I want to be known as a respectable young man with a plan with sports as not his only option in life. I want people to say good things about me, so good that people want to meet me. My reputation is going to last the rest of my life so I want start on a good note. My reputation could be known as athletic, respectful, caring, trustworthy, kind, smart, humble, etc. The reason I wrote these 10 words because these words describe me 100%. If you ask anyboys who I'm close with, they will agree with me. For example, trustworthy, I keep my word no matter who you are. what I say, I keep it beacuse my dad siad real men keep their word.
