My time on the vocab game was 44 seconds. It wasn't the best score but I believe that i can do better so I will study harder.
Somewhere in the Darkness
What I can tell so far is about Jimmy Little does not like school. He doesnt dislike it but he just dosnt wanna go. His parents are not there in the morning so its really his decision to go or not. When he walks to school he finds himself drifting down McDonough Street going the wrong way. He would either go to his friemd house or walking and daydreaming. He daydreams all the time about make-believe places and make-believe people; brave knights who came from kingdoms far away to kill dragons and rescue anyone who needed rescuing. He only spoken once about his dreams and thats was on a school test and he scored so high that he had to see a psychologist. That's all i read so far. Walter Dean Myers p.12 Silent but Vioilent
Brent Crawford uses pun when the main character says, "I break out before the Taco Bell can pass anymore judgements." This is a play on words for the name of the place. Bell is used to describe women. The author uses hyperbole as well when he says, "I've ssen her weight in M&M's back in home." It's saying that she ate a lot of M&M'S. Crawford use parody because it's making fun of movies the phrase was, "But with these damn art movies, she may have told him to drop dead and thats she was really a man after all that. |
